EU Database Registration – Art. 49
Obligation
Providers must register high-risk AI systems in the EU database (Art. 71) before placing on the market.
Registration Contents (Annex VIII)
Section A — Provider Information
- Name, address, contact details
- Where applicable, name of the authorised representative
Section B — System Information
- Designation and version of the AI system
- Status (on the market / withdrawn)
- Description of the intended purpose
- Risk classification
- Member States in which the system is offered
- URL of the instructions for use
- Reference to the EU Declaration of Conformity
Timing
- High-risk systems: Registration before placing on the market (Art. 49(1))
- Non-high-risk Annex III systems: Registration before placing on the market (Art. 49(2))
Access
The EU database is operated by the Commission and is publicly accessible (with the exception of certain law enforcement information).
