AI Inventory & Registration
AI System Inventory
Every organisation should maintain an inventory of all AI systems it develops, deploys or distributes. This is not an explicit obligation under the AI Act, but a prerequisite for correct risk classification and compliance assessment.
Inventory Fields

EU Database Registration (Art. 49)
Obligation to Register
Before placing on the market or putting into service, providers must register the following systems in the EU database:
- High-risk AI systems (Art. 49(1))
- Non-high-risk-classified Annex III systems (Art. 49(2))
Deployers must register if they are public authorities or act on behalf of public authorities.
Registration Contents
The required information is defined in Annex VIII:
- Section A: Provider information
- Section B: Information on the high-risk AI system
- Section C: Deployer information (public authorities only)
