AI Office & AI Board
EU AI Office
The AI Office was established on 24 January 2024 by Commission decision and has been operational since 2 August 2025.
Tasks
- Enforcement of GPAI rules (Art. 88–94)
- Coordination of the uniform application of the AI Act
- Support for Member States
- Administration of the EU database
- Monitoring of systemic risks posed by GPAI models
- Publication of guidelines and best practices
AI Board
The AI Board consists of representatives from the Member States and advises the Commission. It has been operational since August 2025.
Tasks
- Ensure consistent application of the AI Act
- Exchange best practices between Member States
- Advise the Commission on delegated acts
- Coordination of national authorities
Relevance for BAUER GROUP
The AI Office and the AI Board are primarily relevant to the regulatory infrastructure. Direct interaction between BAUER GROUP and these bodies is only expected in exceptional cases (e.g. enquiries regarding specific classification questions or GPAI-related topics).
